What does Maya mean in spirituality?
Maya is a term often used in spiritual traditions to describe the illusion of separation — the appearance that reality is divided, solid, and independent from the whole.
In this sense, Maya does not mean that life is “fake,” but that it is misperceived when viewed solely through the lens of the mind and senses. Forms appear separate, identities appear fixed, and stories appear personal — yet beneath these appearances lies a unified, living intelligence.
